Kevin Durant collected 24 points and 11 rebounds as visiting Oklahoma City overcame a shaky start and took down Sacramento.
Russell Westbrook added 18 points and 14 assists and Kevin Martin hit four 3-pointers en route to 24 points off the bench for the Thunder, who improved to 3-2 on their current six-game road trip.
Tyreke Evans had 16 points while DeMarcus Cousins and Jason Thompson added 14 apiece for the Kings, who were outscored 96-72 in the final 41 minutes of the contest after coming out on fire in the first quarter.
Cousins grabbed an offensive rebound and put it back in to give Sacramento a 23-9 lead with 5:09 left in the first quarter. Oklahoma City ended the first quarter on an 18-7 run to trim the deficit to 30-27 by the end of the frame and took the lead for good when Durant’s free throws made it 44-43 with 3:58 remaining in the first half.
The Thunder would take a 58-51 lead into the locker room and used a 10-0 burst in the third quarter to stretch the gap to 86-61. Martin’s final 3-pointer kept the lead at 21 points with 4:26 left and allowed Oklahoma City to empty the bench.GAME NOTEBOOK:
